Flood warnings have been set across England as rivers rise to dangerous levels following heavy rain.

Some 10 warnings are in place across England, including for the Brue, in Somerset, and the Severn, in Gloucestershire, as well as 112 flood alerts as a result of heavy rain expected on Easter Monday.

It comes after the Met Office confirmed that there was above average rainfall across the UK last month, with areas of the South West and West Midlands receiving the highest totals.

The Met Office said it was unlikely that the UK rainfall totals for March would exceed the total of 132mm of rainfall recorded in the same month last year.
